St. Matthew

Located in Vernon Center, St. Matthew Parish was founded in 1911. The first church was built and dedicated in 1912. At that time the parish was linked with St. Joseph and St. Teresa for leadership. In the ensuing years, this combination changed at various times. A new and larger church was built in 1956 where the community gathers to worship today. St. Matthew's completed a small restoration project of the interior of the Church in 2012 refreshing the look of the Church.

After different configurations with neighboring parishes, in 1989 St. Matthew became part of a faith community with the same parishes as in the beginning. This configuration continues to the present time.
